Frequently asked questions

Everything parents ask us before booking — answered honestly. Can't find your question? Call 07472 044 547.

Who do you teach?

Children aged 5–16 (Reception to GCSE) in Maths, English and Science, from catch-up support to 11+, SATs and GCSE preparation.

Are your staff DBS checked?

Yes — every member of staff holds an Enhanced DBS certificate. Read more on our Safeguarding page.

What happens at the free assessment?

Around an hour in total: a relaxed 45-minute assessment, with time either side for setup, introductions and feedback. We identify your child's current level and specific gaps. You receive a written summary and our honest recommendation — even if that recommendation is that your child doesn't need us. No obligation.

What happens after I enquire?

We'll get back to you within 24 hours — by phone or email — to book the assessment. After it, you'll get the written summary and a proposed plan. You decide from there — we never hard-sell.

How big are the groups?

Never more than 6 children per tutor. Your child works on their own personalised plan, with individual attention from their tutor whenever they need it.

Is it just a child on a computer?

No. IXL sets and adapts the work; our mentors do the teaching. When something isn't clicking on screen, a real person sits down and explains it a different way.

My child has ADHD / autism / dyslexia. Can you help?

Yes — neuro-inclusive teaching is central to what we do, and every child's plan is adapted to how they learn best. Tell us about your child at the assessment and we'll build that into their plan and, if helpful, arrange for you to stay nearby during early sessions.

How will I know it's working?

You receive a written progress report every month showing exactly which skills your child has mastered, plus informal updates at pick-up.

Which exams do you prepare for?

11+, SATs and GCSE — all included in your membership at no extra cost.

How much does it cost?

£85/month for a weekly 1-hour session (~£19.60/hour) or £160/month for two hours a week. No joining fees. Full pricing.

How do I cancel?

In writing (email is fine) with one full calendar month's notice. No cancellation fees. You'll get email confirmation, and you can rejoin anytime.

What if we miss a session?

Missed sessions can't be refunded or made up — our small 6:1 ratios and pricing depend on consistent attendance and holding your child's dedicated seat.

Why can't I stay during the session?

Children focus and grow in confidence faster without an audience — and our safeguarding measures make it safe to step away. Exceptions are always available for children who need them. See our Safeguarding page.

Where are you, and is there parking?

Unit 4, Eckersley Road, Chelmsford CM1 1SL. Parking directly outside the unit is limited, but there's a car park opposite the centre. Map and directions.

Still deciding?

The free assessment answers the most important question of all: exactly what would help your child.
